Send a BOM and Gerbers. Get a DFM review in 24 hours.

A process engineer opens your files, lists every buildability risk with the cost or schedule it carries, and prices the assembly in 48 hours. No obligation, no sales sequence — one engineer, one report, one number.

01 / WHAT TO SEND

What an RFQ needs before it can be quoted

Three files and one number. If something is missing we still start the review and send a short gap list, but a complete package is quoted in 48 hours.

Files 01

Gerber set and drill file

Gerber RS-274X, one file per layer, plus an Excellon drill file with plated and non-plated holes separated and the units stated. We accept 20 × 20 mm boards up to 610 × 510 mm and 0.4 mm to 6.4 mm thickness.

Files 02

BOM with part numbers

One row per part: manufacturer part number, manufacturer, reference designators, quantity per board and package. 4,000 part numbers are already on our shelf, so a well-formed BOM tells us immediately which lines carry a lead time.

Files 03

Quantity and target date

Quantity per build, annual volume if you know it, and the date you need boards in hand. With those two numbers we can price a quantity break, choose between prototype and NPI routing, and tell you the delivery week before you commit.

Not sure what you have

Send what you have. A missing centroid file, an ambiguous finish or a BOM row without a manufacturer part number becomes a line in the DFM report rather than a reason to delay the quote.

02 / WHAT WE BUILD

What we build, and the limits we hold

Six SMT lines across two plants, with through-hole, test and box build under the same quality system. These are the real process windows, not marketing ranges.

03 / QUALITY GATES

Every board passes these gates

Inspection is a process control, not a final sort. A gate that fails stops the line, and the threshold is a number rather than an opinion.

  • G1 Solder paste print, 3D SPIVolume, area and height measured on 100 % of boards; the line stops when capability drops below the gate. CpK ≥ 1.67
  • G2 Inline 3D AOI after reflowMissing, tombstoned, rotated and misaligned parts, plus solder fillet shape against IPC-A-610 for the class you specify. 100 % of boards
  • G3 X-ray on BGA, CSP, LGA and QFN2D and 3D CT imaging of every area array joint, with voiding measured by area rather than judged by eye. void ≤ 25 %
  • G4 Cleaning and ionic contaminationInline aqueous cleaning followed by an ionic contamination test to J-STD-001 limits before coating or packing. ≤ 1.56 µg NaCl-eq/cm²
  • G5 First article on every NPIX-ray, cross-section and dimensional data in an FAI report, with a golden sample signed off before production releases. Every new build
  • G6 Reflow profile repeatability12-zone convection with nitrogen, profiled per assembly and verified against the released profile window. ±1.5 °C

The full picture is on the quality system page, including the standards behind each gate and how records are retained.

05 / WHY US

Why buyers move their programmes here

01 · Speed

The first answer is engineering, not sales

DFM findings in 24 hours and a firm turnkey price in 48, written by the process engineer who would run the build. You can act on the report before you have decided whether to place the order.

02 · Capacity

Six lines that do not queue behind one customer

6 SMT lines across San Jose and Penang, 210 staff and 30,000 pcs per hour per line, up to 45,000 units a month. A prototype slot is usually available inside a week.

03 · Material

4,000 part numbers already on the shelf

Common passives, logic, power and interface parts sit in a 12,000 sq ft ESD-controlled store, so the lead time you plan against is manufacturing time rather than distributor time.

04 · Evidence

One quality system, two continents

ISO 9001:2015, ISO 13485:2016, IATF 16949:2016 and AS9100D, with IPC-A-610 Class 2 or Class 3 workmanship, a 12 month warranty and tooling that becomes your property after first article.

06 / FIRST QUESTIONS

The questions first-time buyers ask

Send it anyway. Missing manufacturer part numbers, a description-only line or an ambiguous package becomes a finding in the DFM report, and we propose a specific part with its lifecycle status and price for you to approve. The quote stays at estimate status only until those lines are closed, which is usually one exchange of email.

Yes, and a mutual NDA is the default even if you do not ask. We will sign your paper or ours before the first file is opened. Design data is limited to the engineers on your programme, no distributor sees your design, and ITAR-controlled work stays in San Jose with US persons only.

Yes. 5 units is our prototype MOQ, and they run through the real process — same laser-cut stencil, same 3D SPI, same reflow profile and the same AOI gate as a production release. Prototypes with standard parts take 5 to 8 days, and you get a first article report with X-ray and cross-section data.

Yes. A transfer needs the revision you are actually building, the test fixture and programming, and a golden sample or the last known-good unit. We run a first article against that sample, report every difference, then build a pilot release 15 days after DFM sign-off. Repeat production then runs at 21 to 28 days ARO with no repeat NRE.

07 / THE RFQ

Send the short RFQ now

Six fields. Add your file reference and send the package to sales@flashpointpcba.com — the review starts as soon as it lands.

Use the same name when you email the Gerber and BOM package.

What happens next

An order engineer acknowledges the RFQ the same working day, the DFM report follows within 24 hours of a complete package, and the firm quote follows within 48. One engineer owns the thread from there to shipment.

08 / COMPLIANCE

Compliance and certificates

Every build is quoted against the standard you name, and the declarations travel with the shipment rather than being promised afterwards.

  • ISO 9001:2015 — the quality system the whole plant is assessed against
  • ISO 13485:2016 — medical device assemblies and their records
  • IATF 16949:2016 — automotive and EV programmes with PPAP support
  • AS9100D and ITAR registration — aerospace and defense work, US persons only
  • IPC-A-610 Class 1, 2 or 3 — workmanship criteria as specified on your drawing
  • J-STD-001 and IPC-7711/7721 — soldering, rework and repair
  • ANSI/ESD S20.20-2021 — ESD control across both plants and the store
  • RoHS 2011/65/EU and REACH SVHC — declarations issued per build
  • ISO 14001:2015 — environmental management of process waste
  • UL 796 and UL 94V-0 laminate recognition — plus OECD conflict-minerals due diligence
